The grant is being used to kick-start a weekly archery programme that was requested by local families, which is delivered at the sports hall within the grounds of Al Madina Mosque. 

Focus will be on parents and children (including female only sessions) participating together to take part in an activity that will have a level playing field from the outset. 

The ethos is that physical exercise is good for mind, body and spirit and learning new skills that can be used for positive lifestyle choices outside of sessions. In addition a coach development programme is available for parents wanting to take their interest further to become accredited staff on the programme.
